Excelsior Orthopaedics will open a new Physical and Occupational Therapy center next to its Orchard Park office on Monday.
The new facility at 3045 Southwestern Blvd., Suite 108, in the Parkland office complex, will offer comprehensive rehabilitation services for patients of all ages either recovering from an orthopedic surgery or pursuing therapy as an alternative to surgery. Excelsior has provided similar services for nearly 15 years at its medical campus on Sheridan Drive in Amherst.
Excelsior opened its first office in Orchard Park in 2007 and relocated to its current, larger facility last year. It has increased the number of orthopaedic surgeons keeping regular office hours there. Last year, the practice entered into a three-year contract to provide athletic training services to the West Seneca Central School District.
“We’re excited about the opportunity to make superior orthopaedic care and sports medicine more accessible to people who live in the Southtowns,” said Josette Fisher, physical therapist and Excelsior’s director of rehabilitation and sports medicine outreach. “That’s been a focus for us in recent years, and our new physical and occupational therapy center in Orchard Park is a significant step in this effort.”
The new 2,000-square-foot center includes the latest rehabilitation equipment and will be led by Matthew Alessi, a senior member of the Excelsior physical and occupational therapy group for the last eight years, will lead the new 2,000-square-foot therapy center.
