WNY Refresh family wellness fair and walk to take place Saturday in Northtowns

Join WNY Refresh Editor Scott Scanlon on three wellness walks in the coming months, including one on Wednesday.

WNY Refresh Editor Scott Scanlon will help lead Saturday's walk.

Yoga, kid fitness and a walk suitable for almost everyone will be part of a free family event Saturday hosted by WNY Refresh and the Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo.

The WNY Refresh Wellness Fair and Walk – which will run from 9 a.m. to noon at Ellicott Creek Park Shelter 14, 1 Ellicott Creek Drive, Town of Tonawanda –  also includes information to promote better health, healthy choices and healthier family relationships.

Dr. Joanne Wu – a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist, and owner of Fit2BWell Fitness – will lead a yoga class at 9 a.m.; the guided walk, led by Refresh Editor Scott Scanlon and Wellness Institute Executive Director Philip L. Haberstro, will start at 10 a.m. At 11 a.m., Exercise Like the Animals founder Jerry Turcotte will lead children through a fitness regimen based on movements of their favorite animals.
