St. Mary's announced Monday that 2007 Lancaster graduate Brittany Heist has been hired as girls soccer coach.
She inherits a program that won last year's Monsignor Martin Association Small Schools playoff title.
Heist, a two-time All-Western New York first team pick, earned America East Conference Midfielder of the Year honors during her collegiate playing career at Boston University. While with the Terriers, she was a two-time All-Conference and two-time all-region pick. She also earned American East All-Tournament honors.
Heist, who played semi-pro for two seasons with Rochester, currently coaches at the Western New York Flash Academy.
“We are very excited to have Brittany joining our Lancer Family,” said Athletic Director Steven Grieco. “Her knowledge, experience and overall contacts throughout the world of Women's Soccer will be a tremendous asset to our student-athletes.”
