Letter: Simple step can prevent leaving baby in a hot car

Simple step can prevent leaving baby in a hot car

With summer’s heat upon us, we grieve to hear of each instance where a baby or small child dies while forgotten in a car.

My Florida resident daughter-in-law advocated for a simple solution. Purse, laptop, cellphone, lunch, etc., should all be placed in the back seat next to the child. A diaper bag in the passenger’s seat is another reminder. As she remarked, “No woman will go into work without her handbag.”

Please consider this carefully, parents. You might spare yourself a lifetime of grief.
