New patrol boat for Chautauqua Sheriff’s office

MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s office has received a brand new, state-of-the-art patrol vessel for use on Chautauqua Lake from the state Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, Sheriff Joseph A. Gerace announced Friday.

The boat, a 24-foot Brunswick Boston Whaler with twin Mercury 4 stroke outboard engines, features a diver/rescue door with boarding ladder, marine and police radios, a radar system and chart potter.

“We are very pleased that we were selected to receive this state-of-the-art vessel,” Gerace said. “This is an enormous benefit to our Navigation Patrol and it has already proven to be a valuable tool in keeping our waterways as safe as possible.”
