2 occupants, one firefighter injured in Hertel house fire

An early-morning fire at a North Buffalo home has sent three people, including a firefighter, to the hospital.

The blaze at 1769 Hertel Ave., between Starin and Voorhees avenues, was reported at 4:26 a.m., according to the Buffalo Fire Department alarm office.

Two people inside the home and one firefighter were transported from the scene, but the extent of their injuries was not immediately available.

The fire started on the first-floor of the two-story home. It caused $100,000 in damage, the alarm office said.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
