Donations collected Sunday for North Tonawanda firefighter, family

NORTH TONAWANDA – Donations will be accepted Sunday for the family of the volunteer firefighter who received a racist letter and whose apartment was damaged in a fire on Wednesday.

The Gratwick Hose Volunteer Fire Co. will collect donations at its hall, 110 Ward Road, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., for Kenneth Walker, who received a racist and threatening letter earlier this week.

The fire department may also be reached at 692-9675, and all messages involving inquiries will be returned, the North Tonawanda Police Department said on its Facebook page.
