Tops Markets has acquired an IGA store in Oswego County.
The Village Market IGA, located in Hannibal, is Tops’ 172nd store.
The 23,000-square foot store will undergo interior and exterior remodeling in line with Tops’ latest store design concept, which emphasizes softer lighting and more natural finishes. It will also have expanded produce offerings, meat, seafood and organic selections. It will reopen under the Tops banner Aug. 11.
Frank Curci, the company’s chairman and CEO, said the store was a “perfect fit” for the company’s growth strategy, nearby other Tops stores in Central New York. Tops now has stores in upstate New York, northern Pennsylvania, western Vermont and north central Massachusetts.
Tops said it would keep the store’s current employees.
