Jurek leads qualifying in Indiana

Jack Jurek of Lackawanna led the qualifying with a 16-game total of 3,728 (233 average) in the PBA50 Dave Small’s Championship Lanes Classic presented by Roto Grip in Anderson, Ind.

In Tuesday’s second round, Jurek had games of 201, 224, 269, 198, 257, 278, 240 and 207 after bowling a 1,854 eight-game block in the first round.

Finishing 54 pins behind Jurek was two-time PBA50 Player of the Year Ron Mohr with 3,674, followed by Hall of Famers Brian Voss, 3,669; Parker Bohn III, 3,651, and Buffalo native Tom Baker, 3,633.

The top 24 qualifiers moved on to match play on Wednesday.
