Drug raids targeting Lovejoy-Kaisertown areas result in 15 arrests

Buffalo police have wrapped up weeks of drugs raids targeting the Lovejoy-Kaisertown areas Friday, arresting nine people, recovering a handgun and seizing drugs including marijuana, heroin and crack cocaine.

In all, 15 search warrants were executed resulting in 15 arrests, according to police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge. On Oberlin Avenue, authorities arrested five people, recovered two guns stolen in Las Vegas and also seized crack cocaine.

Police, who were assisted by the federeal Drug Enforcement Admninistration, Amherst and Town of Tonawanda police and Erie County Sheriff’s Office, said further arrests are pending.
