Two people ejected from motorcycle in Genesee County crash

DARIEN – A woman and a man were injured when they were thrown from a motorcycle that went off the road and airborne Wednesday night in Genesee County.

The one-vehicle crash happened at about 11:15 p.m. on Sumner Road, about a quarter-mile west of Walker Road, according to a Genesee County Sheriff’s Office report.

Eric R. Brumstead, 65, of East Bethany was driving east on Sumner at a high rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a curve and drove into a ditch off the south shoulder of the road, according to the report.

The motorcycle went airborne, hit several trees and flipped over, ejecting both Brumstead and his passenger, who was identified in the report as Andrea M. Farruggia.

Their conditions were not immediately available.

Charges are pending.
