Jamestown man convicted of burglarizing Fredonia apartment for second time

MAYVILLE – A Jamestown man has been convicted by a Chautauqua County Court jury of burglarizing the same upstairs apartment on Lambert Avenue in Fredonia last September that he had burglarized in 2011.

Marcus A. Norman, 47, who faces sentencing Sept. 22, was on parole for the 2011 burglary when he broke into the same apartment – occupied by different renters – about 8 a.m. last Sept. 19. While crawling on a bedroom floor he woke up one of the residents, who chased him out of the house and gave Fredonia Police a physical description of Norman and his vehicle make and license plate number.

Fredonia police passed that information on to Jamestown Police, who arrested Norman about 45 minutes later and recovered items from the apartment. Norman has been convicted of eight burglary-related offenses since 1988, according to public records.
