Woman arraigned on murder charge in boyfriend’s stabbing death

A Buffalo woman was arraigned in State Supreme Court Tuesday on charges of second degree murder in the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend.

Veronica Reynolds, 42, was arrested shortly after Brian Smith, 59, was stabbed in his Mohr Street apartment late in the evening of July 6. Prosecutors say that Smith’s brother, Timothy Washington witnessed the argument and was stabbed in the leg when he tried to intervene. He is recovering.

Reynolds pleaded not guilty and is being held without bail pending her appearance at a later date before Erie County Judge Sheila A. DiTullio.

Assistant District Attorneys John Patrick Feroleto and Timothy J. Garvin are prosecuting the case.
