Thunderstorms scrub Bisons opener

Heavy thunderstorms Monday night caused the postponement of the series opener between the Buffalo Bisons and the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders at PNC Field in Moosic, Pa.

The game will be made up Tuesday as part of a doubleheader starting at 5:05 p.m. (Radio 1520). The teams are scheduled to meet again at 12:05 p.m. on Wednesday before the Bisons return home to face Syracuse on Thursday night.

Right-hander Chris Leroux (7-7, 4.18) will start the first game Tuesday for the Bisons against righty Vicente Campos, who will be making his Triple-A debut. Game Two will have lefty Scott Diamond (6-9, 3.55) of the Bisons facing righty Luis Cessa (4-2, 3.49).

The Bisons, who have lost five in a row, are 5-8 against first-place Scranton in their International League North Division meetings, but 4-2 at PNC Field.
