Hours expanded for Children's Hospital skin condition treatments

The Department of Pediatric Dermatology at Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo recently announced expanded hours for those who receive phototherapy treatments.

Phototherapy is a state-of-the-art ultraviolet light therapy used to treat a wide variety of skin disorders including eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo, pityriasis rosea, and many others. The pediatric dermatology department uses narrow-band ultraviolet B, considered the safest ultraviolet treatment.

Treatments are brief, painless and typically recommended two to three times a week, which is why hours were expanded.
