The Buffalo Bills and free-agent running back Reggie Bush could be closing in on a contract.
An NFL source close to Bush told The Buffalo News Tuesday that the running back's agent and the Bills were "working out deal points."
Asked if he thought the discussions would lead to an agreement, the source said, "I would guess, yes."
Bush, 31, has spent 10 seasons in the NFL with the New Orleans Saints (2006-10), Miami Dolphins (2011-12), Detroit Lions (2013-14), and San Francisco 49ers (2015).
Last Nov. 1, during a game against the Rams, Bush suffered a freak season-ending knee injury when he slipped on the concrete ring surrounding the field in St. Louis' Edward Jones Dome and crashed into a wall.
“I definitely feel like I still have a lot left to prove,” he told Bruce Murray and Maurice Jones-Drew on the SiriusXM Blitz in late June. “I’m grateful for all of the opportunities that I have had, but by no means am I done playing football.
"I have a lot left. I don’t feel old. I haven’t lost a step and I’m still very excited at the future.”
