PLISS, Patricia Ann Wipperman

PLISS - Patricia Ann Wipperman Died peacefully on July 16, 2016 in the company of her four sons (Lawrence, Michael, Joseph, and David), family and dearest friends. Pat was also beloved by neighbors on Hemlock Lane in Eggertsville, NY, and all who knew her. Some of these deep friendships practically were adoptions (thank you Dawn Gearhart, Doug Paluch). She loved the children especially. For over 50 years Pat ran her household with otherworldly detail and efficiency. Having raised four successful boys and survived multiple health issues, Pat found deep comfort in attending to every detail in her welcoming home. Patricia was born in 1933 in Buffalo, growing up in those early years with her Grandma and Grandpa Cavallo on Jersey Street. Her mother died when she was a year old and her father worked away, making for difficult early days. As her four boys got older, Pat took a job with the American Humanist Association. She worked there many satisfying years, retiring as the office manager and having met many wonderful people in that organization. In the years before her demise she practiced Yoga and explored many spiritual sides of herself which helped her to maintain courage, nobility, strength and dignity throughout her long, almost twenty year struggle with cancer. Patricia's two favorite charities where Disabled American Veterans, and the Eggertsville Hose Company. In lieu of flowers, please donate to these charities. Pat has donated her body to the University of Buffalo Medical School. A ceremony will be held that is part of the Donor program's Memorial Service. The date of that Memorial Service which would include Pat's cremated remains has yet to be set.
