SWAN, Clayton L.

SWAN - Clayton L. A retired tool maker, died Saturday, July 2, 2016, at his home in Leesburg, FL. He was 74. Clayton was born in Buffalo and graduated from Hutchinson Tech and Erie Community College. He worked as a tool maker at the Chevrolet plant in Tonawanda for 35 years. A longtime resident of the Town of Tonawanda, he was very active in the community. He served as volunteer and Captain of the Ellwood Volunteer Fire Company in Kenmore and member and Master of Hiram Lodge #105 F&AM. He loved his family and enjoyed travelling. He was a talented wood carver and calligrapher and an avid golfer. Since 2013, he had been living with his family in Leesburg, FL, enjoying warm winters. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, the former Joanne Grossman; his son Kevin, his daughter Kimberly, two grandchildren Nicholas and D'Anna and two nieces Amie and Kristy. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 11 AM, at Kenmore United Methodist Church, 32 Landers Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The American Cancer Society's Tampa Hope Lodge, 12810 Magnolia Dr., 33612.
