Office manager who stole more than $300,000 from employer gets home confinement

An office manager who admitted stealing more than $300,000 from a Buffalo construction company she worked for was sentenced Monday by Chief U.S. District Judge Frank P. Geraci to six months of home confinement

Jennifer L. Cadwallader, 39, of Buffalo had previously pleaded guilty to wire fraud and filing false tax returns in connection with the theft of $338,329 from her employer.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross said the defendant was employed by American Paving and Excavating from 2009 to 2015 and, during that time illegally transferred money from the company’s bank account to her personal credit card accounts.

Cadwaller also failed to report the income from the illegal transfers to the Internal Revenue Service, and the taxes due on that money totals $108,026.
