Thief makes quick use of misplaced credit card at Niagara Falls casino

NIAGARA FALLS – A Toronto man’s credit card was used twice within a half-hour of being lost Friday evening, with the thief running up purchases totaling nearly $2,400, police said.

The victim told police he left the credit card on the gaming floor of Seneca Niagara Casino on Fourth Street about 7:20 p.m. Friday. The victim realized the loss when he received a telephone call from his bank about suspicious activity on his account – including a $695 purchase at 7:26 p.m. and a $1,695 purchase at 8:05 p.m. – and both purchases at the casino hotel.

Police added that the transactions were captured on surveillance video and an investigation is continuing.
