Man arrested in armed robbery of Elmwood Ave. store

A Dorchester Road man was arrested about 7 a.m. Saturday by Northwest District police and charged with an armed robbery about an hour earlier at an Elmwood Avenue convenience store.

Gregory Siegmyer, 40, was accused of being the man who robbed Cameron’s 24-Hour Store, 1054 Elmwood Ave. Police said a man entered the store, said he had a gun and demanded cash from the till. Siegmyer, arrested at his home about three blocks from the store, had $253 in his left pants pocket, police said. He is charged with first-degree robbery and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
