PLA approved for STAMP in Genesee County

The Genesee County Economic Development Center board approved a Project Labor Agreement for infrastructure construction at a high-tech business park.

The GCEDC approved a project labor agreement to install water and sewer lines at the Science and Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park, or STAMP, which is being built in the Town of Alabama.

An analysis by Seer Engineering said using a PLA would save more than $400,000 in direct labor costs, ensure a reliable source of labor without disruptions, and allow for schedule flexibility.

Associated Builders and Contractors’ Empire State Chapter objected to the GCEDC’s decision, asserting it would exclude nonunion workers and contractors.
