WHARAM, William "Bill"

WHARAM - William "Bill" 92, died peacefully at Brandywine Assisted Living at Brandall Estates in Linwood, NJ on December 16, 2014, formerly of Clarence, NY. He was married to Julia (Nickum) Wharam for over 40 years. Survived by stepson, Gregg (Michelle) Knight, of Brigantine, NJ; step-grandchildren Gregg and William Knight of Brigantine; preceded in death by stepdaughter Julia Wharam of Clarence. Bill was born on December 22, 1921 in Buffalo, NY to Thomas and Sadie Ruth Wharam. He graduated from Riverside High School in 1939, entered the military in 1942, serving in the European Theater of Operations for 22 months, including England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1945. Bill was accomplished at his career as a Physical Therapist for 33 years, including Staff Therapist, Clinical Instructor and Chief Physical Therapist of Veterans Administration Medical Center, Buffalo, retiring in 1984. He was a dedicated individual, who loved helping the wounded soldiers. He was active in the VFW in Clarence, the Historical Society of the Town of Clarence, St. Vincent DePaul Society and other activities of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, Harris Hill, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass for Bill on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Clarence at 11 AM.
