GAINESVILLE – A Silver Springs man was charged with driving while intoxicated after he drove his vehicle off the road Thursday, according to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers responded to Fuller Road in Gainesville for a report of a suspicious person and then spoke with James Ebner, 32. They decided to give him a ride back to his residence, and in doing so, saw that his car was stuck on railroad tracks. The railroad company was advised, and it stopped its trains.
After the vehicle was removed and train traffic was restored, Ebner failed a series of sobriety tests, the Sheriff’s Office said.
In addition to DWI, he was charged with aggravated DWI and failure to keep right.
Ebner is to appear in Gainesville court on October 17.
