Letter: Sheridan Drive crossing is a danger to all who try

Sheridan Drive crossing is a danger to all who try

I recently approached Sheridan Drive near Belmont Avenue, the new bike pedestrian crossing. A pedestrian decided to stop six lanes of traffic to cross Sheridan instead of just crossing at Belmont. Halfway across the road the signal began to blink red lights. All traffic, confused just stayed there.

Then four bike riders approached the crosswalk. All bikers and cars were confused. The bikers decided that since the traffic was stopped, they decided to cross Sheridan Drive. The signal then turned off with the bikers in the path of six lanes of Sheridan traffic now moving, since the signal went off.

Someone is going to be seriously hurt or killed on this awful idea.
