Falls man takes shot from pellet gun on Walnut Avenue

NIAGARA FALLS – A Niagara Falls man told police he was shot in the neck by someone with a pellet gun just before midnight Monday in the 1900 block of Walnut Avenue.

Michael A. Vanetten, 38, said was at the intersection of the alley between 19th and 20th street when two males walked by and one of the two burped.

“That was disrespectful,” the victim told the male who burped.

The victim said he then heard a small “pop” and felt a sting on the left side of his neck and discovered he was bleeding, police said.

He was treated in Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, Lewiston, but no pellet was found in his neck, according to police.
