Motorcyclists should wear bright apparel
Motorcycle season is here, and the slogan “Look twice, save a life” is certainly appropriate. The federal government estimates that per mile traveled in 2013, the number of deaths on motorcycles was over 26 times the number in cars.
There is another action that motorcyclists themselves can take to increase their safety. That action is wearing bright clothing and bright helmets. The dark apparel typically worn by motorcyclists hampers their visibility to automobile drivers. So, “Look twice, save a life, and bright is right.”
