Erceg leads Flash win

Abby Erceg scored twice and added an assist in leading the Western New York Flash (8-4-0) to a 3-2 National Women’s Soccer League victory over the Seattle Reign (4-4-4) before 4,314 at Frontier Field in Rochester.

Seattle took the lead on a goal by Naho Kawasami in the 22nd minute but Erceg redirected a throw-in by Jessica McDonald with a header to tie the game in the 38th minute. Erceg scored again in the 45th minute. In the 83rd minute, Erceg chipped a ball to Lynn Williams, who raced past the defense and scored from a bad angle to make it 3-1, Seattle got its second goal during stoppage time.

The Flash will play at Seattle on Saturday before returning home to face FC Kansas City the following week.
