WNED-TV changes all programming on its digital channel 17.2

The WORLD – so to speak -- has ended at WNED-TV.

The local public television channel has replaced the science and health programming it had carried on the digital channel 17.2 previously called Thinkbright and Well-WORLD with lifestyle programming and renamed the channel WNED thinkbright@Create. It launched on July 1.

The revised channel is carrying cooking shows, arts and crafts programs, do-it-yourself, home improvement, gardening and travel programs.

In a release, Kathryn Larsen, WNED-senior director of broadcasting, said “we are extremely excited about this new channel because it allows our viewers more choices and convenient times to watch their favorite programs.”

“The station will feature many established series and well-known hosts, as well as new programs with emerging talent. We can’t think of a better way to serve our community than with this vast array of inspirational, enriching content that helps viewers pursue their hobbies and make the most of their leisure time.”

Added Don Boswell, president and chief executive officer, "WNED thinkbright@Create perfectly reflects WNED | WBFO’s mission of promoting lifelong learning and providing viewers with ideas and inspiration to enrich their lives.”

The revised channel is carried on digital 17.2, Time Warner Cable and Verizon FiOS TV.
