Plenty of activities planned for Olde Sanborn Days

What’s the buzz? It’s the Olde Sanborn Days Arts and Crafts Show set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Chainsaw sculptor Aya Blaine will tackle 3-foot logs to create masterpieces for sale at the event, held on the Sanborn Fire Hall grounds, Route 429 at Route 31. The Japanese master carver is a member of the international team of female performance carvers called the Chainsaw Chix.

The firefighters offer chowder starting at 11 a.m. Saturday and more than 60 vendors are expected over the two days, offering jams to jewelry. Look for pony rides, a petting zoo and continuous live entertainment.

A car cruise is planned for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, against a backdrop of tunes provided by Hank Nevins. The Sanborn Fire Company Band takes the stage at 1 p.m. Look for Dale Campbell to provide entertainment and an open mic all weekend.

Proceeds from the event help the sponsoring Rotary Club of Niagara County Central do its good deeds.
