Teenager struck while crossing Route 60 in Chautauqua County

CHARLOTTE – A Sinclairville teenager was struck by a car on Route 60 when he tried to cross the road early Sunday morning.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies said a vehicle operated by Sigfredo Martinez, 44, of Jamestown, was northbound on Route 60 about 6 a.m. when Devin McChesney, 17, tried to cross the road and was struck.

McChesney was flown by Starflight to Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa., for treatment.

No charges were filed against the driver.

Allstar, Sinclairville and Gerry fire companies also responded to the scene.
