Orchard Park couple switch places, both charged with DWI

HANOVER – An Orchard Park couple both got arrested for drunk driving after Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies saw them switching places after they were pulled over.

Deputies said they saw a man driving a vehicle without wearing a seat belt on Alleghany Road about 6:49 a.m. Sunday. While they were making the traffic stop, deputies said they saw the man who was driving change positions with the woman, who entered the driver’s seat and assumed control of the vehicle.

The couple was identified as Justin M. Buchheit, 32, and Meghan L. Buchheit, 37. Both were found to be intoxicated while in operation of the vehicle, and were arrested.

Meghan Buchheit was charged with drunk driving and being an unlicensed operator. Justin Buchheit was charged with drunk driving, having a blood alcohol level higher than 0.08 percent, aggravated unlicensed operation and driving without a seat belt.

Both were processed and released with citations to appear in Town of Hanover court at a later date
