Error with Maryvale report cards means new ones to be printed and mailed soon

This week in Cheektowaga:

Parents of more than 1,000 students in Cheektowaga are monitoring their mailboxes for new report cards after they were informed of a “significant” error on the year-end reports.

The Maryvale School District advised parents of middle and high school students that the fourth marking period averages were not calculated and printed.

According to a message on the district’s website, the error has been corrected and new report cards are expected to be mailed soon.

There was no explanation about how the error occurred.

District officials could not be reached for comment; there was no answer to phone calls at the district offices and transfers through the automated phone system were not completed.

This week:

• The Town Board meets at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday in Town Hall, 3301 Broadway.

• The Cheektowaga Central School Board meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday for its reorganization and regular session, 3600 Union Road.

• The Cleveland Hill School Board meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday, 105 Mapleview Road.
