Canisius High grad Jordan and his Cal rowers fall

The bid of Canisius High graduate Daniel Jordan and the University of California freshman heavyweight eight ended Saturday in a semifinal of the Temple Challenge Cup in the Henley Royal Regatta on the Thames River in England.

The Cal frosh lost to the Harvard University junior varsity heavyweight eight by one boat length. Jordan pulled the No. 7 oar for the Berkeley crew. Cal had advanced to the semifinals with a victories over Oxford Brookes University “B,” Drexel University and Imperial College of London “A”.

Coxswain Rachel Kelly, a Nardin graduate, and the Cornell varsity heavyweight eight was eliminated from the Temple Challenge Cup with a loss to the Yale lightweight varsity eight, the Eastern Sprints champion, on Friday after wins over Westminster School of London and Imperial College of London “B.”
