Former Buffalo man gets six years in prison for child porn

John K. Carrillo, 35, a former Williamsville resident now living in Lake Charles, La., Friday was sentenced to six years in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara on his conviction for possession of child pornography. He also was ordered to make $4,000 in restitution payments to his unidentified victims.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron J. Mango said that on Nov. 11, 2014 Carrillo was found to have images and videos of child pornography stored on a laptop he had in his Williamsville home. He said he obtained the images and videos over the internet.

Two years ago an undercover FBI agent downloaded from a peer-to-peer sharing program 69 images and seven videos of child pornography directly from the computer user name Carrillo was then using in Williamsville. By Feb. 27, 2015, after Carrillo had moved to Lake Charles, he again was found to be utilizing a peer-to-peer network to distribute child pornography with some of the images and videos depicting violence involving minors less than 12 years old, according to Mango.
