Clarence Hollow Farmers Market fully opens

The annual American Legion parade and memorial ceremony, and a chicken barbecue sponsored by the Clarence Hollow Association, will be highlights of the town’s Memorial Day celebration Monday.

The parade will begin at 11 a.m. from Clarence High School, 9625 Main St., and proceed to Town Park, 10405 Main St. Legionnaires will lead a ceremony honoring the nation’s war dead at noon.

A Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue will begin at noon in Town Park. Dinners and a beverage are $10. A hot dog and a beverage will be $5. There also will be children’s activities and a basket raffle.

This week:

• The Clarence Hollow Farmers Market fully opens for the season from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at 10717 Main St., between Salt and Ransom roads, featuring the Country Store, the Kornerstone Coffee Hut, the Snack Shack, Vivian’s Wine Haus, Lil Sprouts activity tent and live entertainment along with about two dozen vendors.

• The 24th annual Clarence Rotary Club Lobsterfest at 6 p.m. Saturday in Town Park is sold out, but arrangements are being made for more tickets. To join the waiting list for them, visit clarencerotary.com. Tickets, if available, are $79 and include food, beer, soft drinks, dancing and live music. Wine will be available.
