Vacant West Side home slated for emergency demolition after fire

A fire that started late Thursday damaged four West Side homes.

The blaze reported at 11:48 p.m. began at 434½ Seventh St., a vacant 2½-story home between Pennsylvania and Hudson streets, according to the Buffalo Fire Department alarm office.

The structure sustained $20,000 in damage and is slated for emergency demolition.

Three adjacent buildings sustained $4,000 each in exposure damage – 434 Seventh, 440 Seventh and 425 Busti Ave. The only one of those three buildings that was occupied was 440 Seventh.

No information was available about the cause of the blaze.
