Bank of America closing Newfane branch

Bank of America has notified federal regulators it plans to close a branch in Newfane.

The branch is located at 2700 Main St. A notice filed with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency did not specify how soon the location will close.

Bank of America has four other branches in Niagara County, but none of them is nearby. Measured by total deposits, it is the smallest of its five locations in the county, at $33.5 million, according to Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. data from June 2015.

The branch was part of FleetBoston Financial before Bank of America acquired Fleet in 2004.
