Featured Driver of the Week: Ted Barnes

Hometown: Caistorville, Ont.

Home Track/Division: Joe’s Transmissions TNT Super Series/Traveling Series.

Lowdown: After capturing local drag racing track championships earlier in his career, since 2001 Barnes has been involved in traveling and founded the Joe’s Transmissions TNT Super Series. The TNT series ,which is celebrating its tenth anniversary season in 2016, will visit Lancaster National Speedway and Dragway as well as Empire Dragway in Leicester on Friday and Saturday. Barnes credits Joe Boniferro as also key to TNT Super Series growth.

Career Accomplishments: Won the Hot Rod class at the IHRA Canadian Nationals at Toronto Motorsports Park, 2003; London Motorsports Park Super Pro/Top ET champion, 1992, 1993; Toronto Motorsports Park Super Pro/Top ET champion, 2000, 2001; TNT Super Series champion, 2008.

Favorite Food: Barbeque Chicken.

Favorite Music: Bruce Springsteen.

Hobbies: Along with spending time at drag races with his father Bill, Ted also oversees the development of the drag racing career of his 14 year old son Jackson and also enjoys watching daughter Cassidy, 16, compete in rowing competition.
