Buffalo police cruiser struck in three-car collision

A three-car collision Thursday afternoon on the East Side involved a Buffalo police vehicle and resulted in minor injuries, authorities said.

A 20-year-old Buffalo man driving a 2007 Lexus struck a 2010 Chevrolet stopped at a red light just after 7:15 p.m. at Genesee and Kiefer streets, Buffalo Police Department spokesman Michael DeGeorge said in an email.

The impact forced the Chevy into the police cruiser, which was also stopped at the red light, he said.

Charges are pending against the driver of the Lexus, DeGeorge said.
