Girl, 3, identified as drowning victim

The 3-year-old girl who drowned Tuesday night in a home in Buffalo’s Riverside neighborhood has been identified as Chloe Ann Miller.

She was found unresponsive about 8 p.m. in a bathtub in the home at 29 Peoria Street, police said. She was rushed to Kenmore Mercy Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Chloe Ann was being watched by a baby sitter who has been questioned by police, authorities said. Erie County Child Protective Services is also investigating the drowning as police await the results of an autopsy, authorities said.

A one-year-old baby girl drowned in February in an apparently unrelated incident in the bathroom area of another house in the same block of Peoria. That death was ruled an accident.
