UB rewards Legette-Jack with new 5-year contract

UB and women's basketball coach Felisha Legette-Jack has reached agreement on a new contract that extends through the 2020-21 season.

"We are extremely pleased Coach Jack will continue to lead our women's basketball program," Athletic Director Allen Greene said in a news release announcing the transaction. "Felisha represents the best of what we look for at Buffalo. She has been a positive figure in our community as well as a successful leader on the court. Her commitment to this program is unparalleled, and I look forward to seeing her on the sidelines for many years to come."

Legette-Jack has coached UB to three straight winning seasons, including this year's 20-14 mark that included a Mid-American Conference championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. UB has posted 17 or more wins in three straight years for the first time since joinin

g the Mid-American Conference in 1998.

"We're excited for what we are building here and we are on our way to new-found heights," Legette-Jack said. "Going to the NIT last year for the first time in program history really set a precedent. Getting to the NCAA Tournament this year shows there is no ceiling to how great we can become. I'm honored to continue to be a part of this great program."
