It’s time to eliminate the Electoral College
The presidential electoral process this year has demonstrated the people’s wish for more than two choices. I believe the Electoral College discourages third- and fourth-party candidates. If one or more of these additional candidates were to win enough electoral votes, we could throw the election into the House of Representatives.
Eliminating the Electoral College would encourage more candidates to run, since the popular vote would determine the winner. A recent example is Ross Perot, who received a significant number of popular votes, but no electoral votes.
