The Regal Quaker Crossing Stadium 18 is next on the list to get the big-seat upgrade. All existing theater seats in the 18-screen house, located at 3450 Amelia Drive in Orchard Park, will be replaced with king-size recliners with footrests by November.
An example of the new recliners is on display in the Quaker lobby for theatergoers to see. The theater will remain open during the remodel.
Earlier in the month, Regal announced the Walden Galleria would be its first local theater to get the luxury seating. That project is expected to be complete in October.
Regal continues a national trend that started locally in 2014 with new seating at AMC Maple Ridge in Amherst and continued in 2015 when Dipson Theatres added reclining seats to the Amherst Theatre and the McKinley 6.
