Liberty Pumps saluted by Commerce Department

Liberty Pumps, a Genesee County manufacturer, was one of 123 companies to receive the President’s “E” Award for exporting excellence during a ceremony this week in Washington, D.C.

Liberty, which makes pumping products for groundwater and wastewater removal at its plant in Bergen, was recognized by Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker for making a significant contribution to America’s total exports over a four-year period.

The company said in the past five years, it has grown from exporting to only Canada, to more than 30 countries. The company said export sales now account for more than 15 percent of its revenue.
