WNY agency receives grant for addiction treatment

Western New York Independent Living Inc. is one of four upstate New York agencies that will receive a state grant of $250,000 to expand access to addiction treatment services through the state Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo announced Tuesday.

The grant will support the agency’s Mental Health Peer Connection, which will guide emergency room patients to treatment for their addictions and provide a family support navigator program to assist families in providing care for substance abusers.
