LOCKPORT – Michael D. Lett Sr., who robbed a video store while he was free on bail after a burglary, was sentenced to five to 10 years in state prison Monday by Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon.
Lett, 36, of Cudaback Avenue, stole $100 from a woman in her Niagara Falls home April 28, 2015, and held up the Family Video store on Pine Avenue in the Falls Jan. 28. He pleaded guilty to third-degree robbery and attempted third-degree burglary.
Assistant Public Defender A. Joseph Catalano said Lett was high on a variety of drugs the day of the robbery. “He doesn’t remember a lot from that day,” Catalano said.
Lett’s sentencing date was advanced because he had been a problem inmate in the County Jail, allegedly threatening guards, Assistant District Attorney Joel M. Grundy said.
