Would-be bandits yield to convenience store manager with a knife

NIAGARA FALLS – Two robbers – one armed with a knife – were scared off from a Pine Avenue convenience store early Saturday when the night manager produced a knife of his own, police said.

Just before 4 a.m., a clerk noticed two men standing outside the 7-Eleven at 1504 Pine, each with hoodies pulled over their heads and their faces masked.

While the clerk phoned police, the night manager pulled out a knife and confronted the two, ordering them to leave. The would-be robbers apparently left without incident, police said.
