Buffalo man faces federal charges of producing child porn

Daniel G. Sasiadek did more than just look at child pornography, federal prosecutors now believe.

They allege that he also produced it.

Sasiadek, 61, of Buffalo, was arraigned Friday on a new charge of producing child pornography. He is accused of coercing an underage victim as part of the video.

The new charges – he also faces six new charges on possession of child pornography possession – follow two prior misdemeanor convictions for endangering the welfare of a child, Assistant U.S. Attorney Mary Catherine Baumgarten said.

Those prior cases involved allegations of rape and underage victims, according to Baumgarten.

“It would be related to individuals under the age of 12,” she told U.S. Magistrate Judge Hugh B. Scott.

Sasiadek pleaded not guilty Friday.

The charges against him are the result of an investigation by the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force, Buffalo and Cheektowaga police and the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.

During a raid of Sasiadek’s home last year, investigators said, they seized a DVD containing 46 images of child pornography, including some involving prepubescent children.

They also say Sasiadek subsequently admitted during a law enforcement interrogation that he occasionally viewed and saved child pornography on his desktop computer and had deleted a lot of child porn from that computer years ago.
