Letter: ‘Dirty Dancing’ was a terrific performance

‘Dirty Dancing’ was a terrific performance

I read Colin Dabkowski’s May 5 review of “Dirty Dancing,” and wonder if we were even at the same production. Six of us ladies had our girls’ night out last week and treated ourselves to a wonderful evening! The house was full, and the production and its cast were so energetic and entertaining that the show ended with a standing ovation.

I realize Dabkowski is an art critic, but his review was way off base. The old adage applies here: If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. Sorry, but Dabkowski got this one wrong.

I would also like to comment on the price of parking around Shea’s. It is absolutely outrageous for parking lots to be charging $25 or $30 for visitors to any of downtown Buffalo’s events. I thought we were trying to bring people downtown to enjoy what the city has to offer? Overcharging for parking is instead pushing people away.
